The company was founded in 1989 by Glynn Ewan and Hazel Barnard, who were soon joined by Steve Dennett. Collectively, the directors have over 50 years experience in the food service/hospitality industry. The success and growth of the company prompted the move to larger, custom-built premises in Kyalami Business Park in February 1993. It is here that the entire operation is contained - manufacturing, administration, sales, service, technical support, and distribution - providing a streamlined and focused specialist organisation.
Currently Hychem is recognised as one of the top three suppliers of chemicals, accessories and associated services to this industry
Hychem have achieved SABS ISO 9001/2000 accreditation and is listed as a Proudly South African Company. Certain of Hychem's products carry the SABS1828 mark and all disinfectants are registered with SABS.

Quality Products - These products are batch tested in Hychem's laboratory and comply with stringent quality control specifications To ensure optimised cost-efficiency, Hychem offers a range of equipment for the control and application of its products. Chemical dispensing systems, designed by Hychem, are provided free-and-on-loan to the customer.
Hychem has been appointed sole agent in South Africa by Innu-Science Canada for distribution of a non pathogenic cultured bacteria range of products for use in drain lines and grease traps for the eradication of grease, fats and oils, odour control in waste compactor areas, washrooms, hotel rooms etc.

INNU-SCIENCE uses advanced biotechnology techniques to manufacture professional and domestic hygiene and waste-water treatment products. Created from bacterial cultures and active fermentation extracts, these products require very little water and are totally biodegradable.

Although chlorine dioxide has the word chlorine in, its name, its chemistry is very different to that of chlorine. It has 2-5 times the oxidation of chlorine and is 4-7 times more effective than chlorine as a sanitizer. These benefits include more effective decontamination, shorter contact time, low concentrations; minimal corrosion, low toxicity, biodegradability and the ability to cost effectively perform over a wide range of ph's. |
