Company Profile : |
Makoti down products was born on the Southern Karoo farm of Noorspoort, Steytlerville in 1989. What started out as a one-person business, necessitated by 12 years of sever drought, has grown steadily over the past 20 years into a fully fledged small industry now employing more than 30 people.
In addition to our Goose Down, still produced at Noorspoort, Makoti sources additional down from South African farmers, many of whom were personally trained by Makoti. This exemplifies our ethic to use only the finest quality down in our products, while also supporting business in rural areas. The goose down is processed using a specialised machine from Germany, with strict quality control measures in place. All duvets, pillows and bed linen are hand manufactured at the Makoti premises in Uitenhage.
Makoti is the Xhosa word for "a young bride". Makoti products reflect this sentiment by providing you with a lifetime of service and enjoyment. We pride ourselves on delivering a product as unique as yourself. We believe that we are not only dealing with products, but, importantly with the people who use our products. This close relationship with our clients enables us to provide a superior service based on friendship and trust. If you are a person who enjoys lifes finer details, we welcome you to the World of Makoti.
Makoti is a member of the European Down & Feather Association EDFA. Makoti goose down can be used by people who are allergic to house dust mites and all products carry the NO-MITE label.
